Joyce Kilmer Forest
Joyce Kilmer National Forest: A walk through Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest is a journey back in time through a
magnificent forest with towering trees as old as 400 years. Some enormous yellow-poplars are over 20 feet in circumference and stand 100 feet tall.

Scenic Drive Smoky Mountain Scenic Drive: This trip was started by agraranger for the 2006 MOTD. It's a 140 mile drive of breathtaking road that take about 4 hrs. The original trip included a stop at Apple Valley Kitchen for lunch. Click on the picture for maps and details.

Whitewater Rafting Whitewater Rafting: There are numerous rafting companies that will take you rafting on the Nantahala River out of Bryson City. For those with prior rafting experience & wanting more challenge try the Cheoah out of Robbinsville.
