Pay for your own snacks
This will be a Weather Dependant Drive (excessive rain can make the crossing too deep in water). Due to the unpaved roads and water crossings, this drive is geared towards the Countryman and Paceman, but all MINIs are welcome.
Parson Branch Road is an 8 mile one-way primitive gravel road that goes from Cades Cove back to the Dragon that takes about an hour to travel. The road crosses more than a dozen creeks that are made easy by narrow bridges or concrete road beds through the water. Barbie and I drove this road in September 2010 in our 2008 Clubman with no problems at all. It’s a slow ride through dense woods with large changes in elevation. Seems like the prefect road for anyone with a new Countryman. Parson Branch Road is bumpy in places and I would not recommend this trip for any MINI that has been lowered or has ground effects.
