Pay for your own lunch. After leaving Fontana we'll take a spirited drive on NC 28 for lunch at the Motor Company Grill in Franklin, NC, which is a cool car-themed restaurant with checkerboard floors and an old-fashioned soda fountain. See the menu link below.

From there we'll drive to the Bridal Veil Falls near Highlands, which is a 45-foot (20.1 m) waterfall that has a short piece of the roadway beneath and behind the falls. We'll take some time for individual and group photos with MINIs behind the falls.

As each group of MINIs is done at Bridal Veil, they will drive the short distance to Dry Falls and take the walkway down to the waterfall. Dry Falls is a spectacular 80-foot-high waterfall that cascades into a rocky gorge below. Get you cameras ready! After taking the walkway to the bottom you actually can walk behind the wall of water without getting wet, hence the name "Dry Falls." The walkway can be slippery so make sure you wear shoes with good grip.

Once we've had some time for photos we'll take another spirited drive on NC 28 back to Fontana, arriving back there at approximately 5:30 with plenty of time to make it to Bingo at 6:30.

Dry Falls are a 80-foot high falls explode as a free-falling wall of water down to a rocky gorge below. You can actually walk behind them and stay more-or-less dry.

Bridal Veil Falls is a 45-foot (20.1 m) waterfall located in the Nantahala National Forest, northwest of Highlands, North Carolina. With a short curve of roadway located behind the falls, it has the distinction of being the only waterfall in the state that one can drive a vehicle under.
